Master of Science: Environmental Technology (Thai Programme)

Candidate’s qualification

  • Hold a Bachelor degree, or study in the last semester for a Bachelor degree of Science in any of the following fields : Chemistry, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, Physics, Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Rural Technology ; or a Bachelor degree of Engineering in any of the following fields : Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Textile, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Grade point average of at least 2.50 or 75 %.
  • Other qualifications than the above-mentioned could be considered based on the opinions of the programme administration committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

 Doctor of Philosophy: Environmental Technology
(International Programme)

The programme was approved in August 2004. Candidates of the doctoral programme in Environmental Technology must have the following qualifications :

  • Hold a Master’s degree of science in any of the following fields : Environmental Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Botany, Public Health, Environment, Health Sciences, Occupational Health, Physics, Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Rural Technology ; or a Master’s degree of Engineering or any of the following types : Environmental, Water Resource, Civil, Chemical, Textile, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering with a grade point average of at least 3.5 or
  • Hold a Bachelor degree of science in any of the following fields : Environmental Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Botany, Public Health, Environment, Health Sciences, Occupational Health, Physics, Mathematics, Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Rural Technology; or a Bachelor degree of Engineering or any of the following types : Environmental, Water Resource, Civil, Chemical, Textile, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering with a grade point average of at least 3.5
  • Have TOEFL score of at least 500.
  • Other qualifications than the above-mentioned could be considered based on the opinions of the Programme Administration Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

 Master of Science: Industrial Hygiene and Safety (Thai Programme)

Plan A (2)  

  • Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene and safety, engineering, Sciences (chemistry, biology and physics), health Sciences, public health, nursing, physical therapy, medical technology or Bachelor’s degree in Sciencess (environment, safety and health)
  • Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50
  • An applicant does not meet the above requirements may be considered to apply for this programme under the judgment of the programme committee and Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

Plan B

  • Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene and safety, engineering, Sciences (chemistry, biology and physics), Health Sciences, public health, nursing, physical therapy, medical technology or equivalent in science (environment, safety and health) and must have working experience for at least two years.
  • Student must hold a Bachelor’s degree in other programme and must have working experience for safety officer or environmental manager or related fields at least 5 years (counting to the date of the student report to Faculty of Graduate Studies)
  • Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50
  • An applicant does not meet the above requirements may be considered to apply for this programme under the judgment of the programme committee and Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

 Master of  Science: Environmental Sanitation (Thai Programme)

An applicant must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Public Health Sciences with GPA not less than 2.50 from an accredited institution.
  • Pass satisfactorily the English examination of Mahidol University or equivalent institution.
  • Pass the physical and mental examination by an approved physician.
  • Pass the entrance examination set up by the Admission Committee of the Faculty of  Graduate Studies. (Exemption to the above items may be made by the programme committee.)

Master’s Degree Programme: January each year is the normal time of admission and entry annually to the four-semester (24 months) Master’s degree programme. All three M.Sc. Programme, Students have to complete a programme of coursework and a research thesis as followed :

Doctoral Programme: Doctoral degree students after receiving that M.Sc. from the same programme are given flexible entry timing and are required to complete a minimum of 12 credits of coursework and 36 credits for dissertation. For the student holding a Bachelor degree must take not less than 36 credits of course work and 48 credits of dissertation. Students must have taken their Advancement to Candidacy not later than the end of their third semester of study, and completed all the requirements for the Doctoral degree within five years of Advancement.
