| The study of the contamination of mercury in Map ta phut Industrial Estate area, Rayong Province was determined in this study. The contamination of mercury in surface water, sea water and sediment in Klong Chak Mak, Klong Bang Ka Phun, Klong Nam Cha and Klong Nam Hu were evaluated. The samples were collected every 2 months during June 2016 to May 2017. The result of mercury contamination in environmental samples were found as follow: The amount of mercury in surface water, sea water and sediment samples were N.D.-1.33 µg/L, ND-1.35 µg/L and 0.06-1.57 µg/L, respectively. Mercury contamination in surface water sample were lower than the standard values. However, the mercury contamination in sea water and sediment were higher than the standard values in some station. In addition, an assessment of the sources of mercury contamination, it was found that the primary source of mercury contamination was from natural rather than industrial.
